U23 Vietnam welcomed the return of at least 3 players in the final against Thailand, after having negative results for SARS-CoV-2.

On the morning of February 25, the medical department did a quick test for all U23 Vietnam members. As a result, the team has one more suspected Covid-19 case, midfielder Tran Quang Thinh.

This also means that U23 Vietnam has only 12 qualified players to register to compete in the final against Thailand.

Faced with the risk of not having enough 13 players registered in the final match list, VFF asked the organizers to assist in re-testing players with positive Covid-19 results. As a result, U23 Vietnam has 3 negative players, eligible to play against Thailand.

U23 Vietnam welcomes the return of 3 players.

Those are the players Truong Duc Manh, Tran Manh Quynh and Dung Quang Nho. These are all important pillars of U23 Vietnam.

Thus, if nothing changes, U23 Vietnam has at least 15 players registered to compete in the Thailand rematch. This is good news for coach Dinh The Nam and fans.

Previously, the VFF also had a proposal to the AFF to allow the addition of replacement players beyond the maximum limit of 10 players as the new regulation issued and applied by AFF.

VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh said:  “This not only helps U23 Vietnam have more choices of personnel to play on the field, but also helps ensure the image of the tournament and the attractiveness of the match. The ending is highly anticipated by the fans.

However, this is an issue that is outside of the Tournament Rules and needs to be approved by the AFF Council. Regarding the VFF, plans are also ready to take the next steps to help U23 Vietnam get the best conditions.”
