Juan Mata and his quality plays
Manchester United are gearing up for a major revolution at the end of the season and midfield is sure to be one of the most volatile positions.
Currently, Man Utd is focused on finding a new coach to oversee the team for many years to come. But whoever arrives at Old Trafford this summer is likely to want to bring in at least a couple of midfielders to bolster the squad.
Paul Pogba is ready to leave the club when his contract is about to expire. Jesse Lingard is also in a similar situation, while Juan Mata may retire. Nemanja Matic will turn 34 in August and is set to enter the final year of his contract.

The must-have player of the Red Devils.
Donny van de Beek could leave after a loan spell at Everton and United are looking to sell off Andreas Pereira, who is currently on loan at Flamengo.
With a barrage of criticism frequently emerging for the Fred and Scott McTominay duo, it’s clearly a bleak picture. Strengthening the midfield is a task that Man Utd have had for a long time – and it looks likely to happen this summer.
While Man Utd has not found a suitable name, they also have the ability to strengthen from within. One of the names for the Red Devils to consider is James Garner, who is playing prominently with a very good performance at Nottingham Forest.
Garner, just 21 years old, is highly rated for a potential position in the Man Utd first team. That’s largely because Garner is booming at Nottingham. Garner provided 2 goals and 5 assists in the last 10 matches in all competitions.

Garner is likened by Mata to Isco.
Garner has made a total of 77 appearances for Forest and Watford over the past two seasons. An amazing achievement. Juan Mata once commented on Garner on The Athletic in 2019: “He makes the right decisions. He is a talented, intelligent player and I really like him.
Isco is another prime example of this type of player. He’s talented and quite creative. These kinds of creative players, having the ability to control, move, pass the ball – they make their own football.”
According to The Athletic, Forest is keen to sign Garner. However, it is likely that Garner will return to Man Utd. The Old Trafford team needs a player with a playing style like Garner to control the game.
Understandably, Man Utd fans are interested in which rookie could join the team in the summer transfer window, but the answer to their dream may already be in the club’s books.
