The FA and coach Gareth Southgate are trying to convince a Crystal Palace star to choose British citizenship.

Olise scores against West Ham

Michael Olise is experiencing a sublime season with Crystal Palace. The 20-year-old star has scored 4 goals and contributed 8 assists in 25 appearances in all competitions. The forte position is right winger, but Olise can also play well in the role of central midfielder or attacking midfielder.

Landing at Palace from Reading for a fee of nearly 10 million euros, Olise was initially considered a promising signing. However, what he is showing this season has probably surpassed the expectations of BLD Palace. The impressive performance of the talent born in 2001 has thus caught the eye of England coach – Gareth Southgate.

 Olise is in high form.

Olise was born in London to a Nigerian father and a French Algerian mother. The 20-year-old player has four nationalities to choose from. Olise used to play for the French U18 team, but was never called up to the French national team. Therefore, coach Southagate and the FA are urgently negotiating to persuade Olise to choose British citizenship , to later devote to the Three Lions.

According to 90min, although no decision has been made, the star of the Crystal Palace staff still seems to be leaning towards the French team at the moment. Les Bleus owns top-class stars, so it’s not easy for Olise to “squeeze” into the squad right now.
