Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta clearly expressed his disappointment when the Blues drew 1-1 with Brighton because of a goal in injury time.

Romelu Lukaku was the scorer to open the scoring for Chelsea and had an impressive performance. However, his teammates were not like that. The Blues missed many opportunities, and paid the price by Danny Welbeck’s injury-time goal.

Azpilicueta said after the game: “It was really disappointing. Of course, we had a chance to finish the game. They also had a chance. We let them survive and of course, conceding. the net and and dropping two points in the last minutes is very frustrating. We are not happy at all.

We know Brighton will be difficult. We also knew they were going to press high, and that was a big opportunity for us, on the counter-attack, but we didn’t do well in the decisive situations.”
The Chelsea captain looks to the upcoming match against Liverpool: “The Premier League is the hardest league in the world and every opponent is very upset, but when you don’t get the three points it’s disappointing.

We want to win every game and hopefully we can give the fans a good start to the new year, in front of the fans here, against Liverpool. This is a difficult time, but we need to stick together. It’s not an easy situation but Chelsea have to get through these difficult moments.”
