Nunez shares his feelings after scoring Barca
Yesterday, Darwin Nunez scored the only goal for Benfica to hold back a little hope for the Portuguese representative in the match that they lost to Liverpool with a score of 1-3.
This is the 28th goal in all competitions for the 22-year-old striker. At the Under-23 age, no striker in Europe has reached this milestone, with Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland trailing 25 and 23 respectively.
Nunez’s impressive form has attracted many European giants, including Arsenal, Man Utd and Tottenham.
Last January, Arsenal contacted Edgardo Lasalvia, Nunez’s agent and looked forward to a possible deal in the future. Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of Man Utd has at least 10 times sent scouts to monitor Nunez.
Reports in Portugal indicate growing tension between Nunez and his agent Lasalvia, whose contract with Nunez expires next month. For this reason, Lasalvia wants to promote a transfer in order to earn a certain amount of commission.
Speaking last month, Lasalvia thinks Atletico are leading the race. He told A Bola: “The club that is most notable and speaks to us the most about Darwin [Nunez] is Atlético Madrid and soon I will be going to Europe to see them and Benfica.”
Super agent Jorge Mendes is also currently very interested in the future of the Uruguayan international, in the context of Lasalvia’s imminent departure.
